FAQs

Fees, Payment, and Insurance

  • The fees for services are aligned with the recommended fee guide provided by The Psychologist’s Association of Alberta:

    • 20-minute phone consultation: Complimentary
    • 50-minute individual therapy session: $220
    • 80-minute individual therapy session: $330

*All new clients must book an initial 50-minute intake session

  • We are unable to provide sliding-scale fees at this time, but we hope to have the capacity to do so in the future.

  • Payment is due at the end of each session and is accepted via credit card, Interac e-Transfer, cheque, or cash.

  • While Alberta Health Care Insurance does not cover psychology services, they are eligible for reimbursement through most extended health plans. If you are uncertain of coverage, please contact your provider and ask if services with a “Registered Psychologist” are covered.

  • Our clinic is pleased to offer direct billing services for clients with the following insurance benefit plans: Alberta Blue Cross, Beneva, Canada Life, Equitable Life, Desjardins, GroupSource, Industrial Alliance, Manulife, and several other plans. Please contact us to confirm if your plan qualifies for direct billing. For insurance plans where direct billing is not available, Aleeza will provide a detailed receipt for you to submit for reimbursement.

  • Yes, Aleeza is an approved provider for the NIHB program. Please contact her directly if you are eligible for this program to discuss further details.

  • All cancellations must be provided with 24-hour business day notice. For example, a session on Wednesday at 3:00pm must be cancelled by the preceding Tuesday by 3:00pm. A session on Monday at 3:00pm must be cancelled by the preceding Friday at 3:00pm.

Cancellations without notice or made with less than 24 hours notice will be charged the full session fee. If you cancel via email, voicemail, or text, your cancellation will be accepted if the message was left within the cancellation period.

Client Eligibility and Session Format

  • We primarily work with women and only with adult clients (18+); however, our services are open to all adults, and you are welcome to contact us for a complimentary phone consultation.

  • We are currently able to provide in-person and virtual services to clients across Alberta, and as of June 1. 2024 we now also offer virtual services to clients residing in the provinces of Quebec, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia.

  • We provide both in-person and virtual services via a secure telehealth platform. We do not provide sessions over the phone.

First Session

  • Once you book an initial intake, you will receive a link to complete a client demographic and intake form that should be completed before the session. These forms will be reviewed with your therapist, so please be sure to write down any questions you may have.

  • The first session gives you the opportunity you to meet with your therapist and start building a relationship. Research shows the relationship with your therapist is the strongest predictor of positive outcomes in therapy, so it’s important that you get a good sense of whether you feel safe and comfortable in the space. The first session also involves reviewing informed consent and completing an intake. Your therapist will gather both historical and current information to gain a thorough understanding of your challenges and goals for therapy. It’s also a chance for your therapist to start learning about all the things that make you uniquely you!

  • All that’s required is your presence! Whether you show up eager, excited, nervous, anxious or all of the above, your therapist will gently guide you through the process. Some clients find it helpful to bring a notebook, but this is not a requirement. You are welcome to arrive a few minutes early and help yourself to a refreshment in the waiting room.
