I wholeheartedly believe in each client's innate capacity to heal from even the most painful experiences.

Meet Aleeza

Hi I’m Aleeza (she/her) and I am the proud owner and clinic director of Aleeza S. Mohamed Psychology Services. I am a Registered Psychologist and have been licensed to provide psychology services across Alberta since 2011. My clinic currently offers individual therapy through both in-person and secure telehealth sessions.

I am originally from Calgary and earned my Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology from McGill University in Montreal. Based in Calgary, my practice focuses on Women's Mental Health and is informed by a combination of specialized training in Emotion-Focused, Narrative, Dialectical Behaviour, and EMDR therapies. My experience spans a variety of therapeutic settings, including a cancer wellness center, the U of C student wellness center, a sexual violence counselling center (CCASA), a public health care Dialectical Behaviour Therapy program, and private practice.

My goal is to provide a safe, nurturing, and authentic experience to each client I have the privilege to work with on the journey of transforming from survival and overwhelm to a life of meaning, healing, and freedom.

I take a mind and body approach to therapy that addresses concerns from a holistic perspective. My therapeutic approach is uniquely tailored to each client I work with and often incorporates mindfulness, somatic practices, and attachment-focused work. After working with so many women over the past decade, I understand firsthand that women in today's world face unique circumstances, often overcoming significant challenges and barriers to healing from pain and adversity.

I am skilled and experienced with addressing a range of concerns but most frequently support clients dealing with depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, and relationship challenges. I offer a number of different services to support clients based on their unique concerns and circumstances.

I strongly believe in the importance of providing trauma-informed care for all clients.  Having worked with so many survivors of trauma, I understand the profound and devastating impact trauma can have on each client’s sense of safety, stability, and ability to engage effectively in all areas of life.

The good news is that time and time again, I have witnessed clients heal from trauma and forge a new path forward to a life filled with more hope and meaning.

I am committed to a collaborative client-therapist relationship and wholeheartedly believe in each client's innate capacity to heal from even the most painful experiences.

Outside of my professional life, I am an avid reader, world traveller, and frequently explorer of Calgary's arts and cultural scene through festivals and events. I enjoy getting to work and play in all of my life roles as a daughter, sister, aunt, friend, therapist, and feline lover.
